a new dress...

Yesterday we went to celebrate my fiance's birthday with some friends at one of our favourite local pubs. It just so happened to have something of a Deadwood themed party there too, and, as Deadwood is our favourite TV show ever, this was an awesome coincidence!

I chose to wear my new dress – I actually kind of cheated a little and bought this two weeks ago, but I just chanced upon it in a shop miles away from where I usually am, and fell in love instantly. I then saw it had 70% off, so how could I possibly refuse?!

I also wore my hair up again, and I am so much happier with it like this. Luckily it is really warm in the pub (and, um, yes, a little warmer than when I took these pics) and we had a ball.

My goodness, these are some of the prettiest photos of you I've seen!
If I'd seen you in the street wearing that I would have stopped and stared!!
It is so lovely, the colour is what I love the most.
Superb!

You look absolutely divinely gorgeous (and yes, a little bit, ahem, cold). What a lovely dress!

I'm so jealous- I want a really long pair of gloves! I plan to have some made for me that will reach past me elbows.

You looks stunning my dear.

That's too gorgeous! I've been looking for a dress exactly like the one you are wearing on eBay and whilst thrifting. And 70% off too, you are a lucky girl!

Lady Melbourne: thanks very much! I did get some strange looks, but nothing nasty, though :)

skye: thanks!

grant: thanks very much! Have you heard of Julia de Ville? She hand makes awesome gloves, shoes etc, worth checking out.

miss karen: thanks so much! I love the style of it too, I love collars at the moment.. :)

penny: thanks very much!

madeleinemiranda: haha thanks very much! The dress isn't vintage, just borrowing a goode olde style.

WJ: thanks! I actually think the shop might have a few of these left, if you want I'll dig out the name for you (i've got the bag somewhere) and it really was a bargain. Otherwise, good luck with the Ebay and thrift search, and do show us what you find!

Wow - really lovely dress. Do you girls not freeze prancing around in all these skimpy gowns?!

I so can't wait for warmer weather! I have managed to get through this Winter with no illness yet - but I think it's because I haven't been doing much prancing around! sad.

The Collector: thanks! And don't worry, it was very warm in the pub. I like to be weather appropriate! I just hate taking pics in my flat, hence outdoor prancing. :) I also can't wait to wear the dress as a day time one, suitably matched with warm winter woolies, of course!
