Fashion Hayley's party

Yesterday, the lovely Hayley from Fashion Hayley held a Spring lunch party, and I was chuffed to be invited. She decorated her gorgeous city apartment with cherry blossoms and put on some delicious food for us. It was lovely to meet Hayley for the first time, and to see familiar – in real life now as well as on screen – faces again, too.

Like most people, I find meeting new people can be a little scary, so I took a deep breath and went up in the lift to the party. And I am so glad I did. Everyone was lovely and we all had a good chat. Yes, we talked about clothes, of course, but a bazillion other things as well – and we all had lots of attention from Hayley's adorable little dog, too. Unfortunately I had to leave a little early and missed out on the games (I was so looking forward to pin-the-pussybow-on-the-blouse!) but I am glad to have been there.

The dress code was our interpretation of Spring trends. I am not usually an absolute-trend-following girl, but I do like the lace that is everywhere at the moment. Luckily I liked it years ago, too, when I bought a cream lacy top from H&M, which I wore under my knitted dress with white tights and my enormous t-bar platforms. The tights were the thrifted-new ones from the other week, and were air hostess uniform (Qantas) ones; they claimed to have some sort of circulation boosting magic elastic wizardy, and I must say it worked! My legs were, indeed, energised and light at the end of the day, which was really nice. I also pinned my hair up and put flowers in it again, and that combined with the high necked lace made me feel a little Victorian, which I didn't mind at all. Thanks again, Hayley, it was so much fun!

You look just lovely, I love all the white with the blue of that dress and the pretty hairstyle. You should have been very proud dressed like that with all those stylish ladies. That would definately make me nervous, but good to see you had such a good time!

I always get totally nervous too! It looked like heaps of fun and I hope there are more fun melbourne parties when I move down there next year!

I second Lady Smaggle, except I'm looking forward to HOLDING the parties when I get to Melbourne next year :)

I love your dress. And I think you are the only person that can get away with wearing stockings and socks with peephole shoes - on everyone else I hate it, but on you it's just darling.

I didn't get a chance to say I loved your hair, and your outfit too, but I do. It was so great to meet you I wish I got to talk to you some more, being the host is a little stressful. I was so nervous about meeting everyone too, or that no one would come, lol but it all worked out fine. I just wish you got to play the game, but there is always next time.

I love your hair, you look so cute. I'm nervous about meeting new people too, but at the same time I'm incredibly jealous that you get to meet all these cool bloggers. Note to self: Move to the south!

Louise: thanks! It really was fun :)

Lady Smaggle: I think everyone does, it'd be weird not to! Yeah, that would be cool!

Shannon: hehe even better! Thanks – just a few short years ago I would have shuddered at tights+open toes, but now I love my nanna ways! :)

Skye: thanks! I felt so demure!!! It was such good fun.

Fashion Hayley: thanks :) you were an excellent host, I loved being your guest. :)

StrikeMatch: thanks! It's so worth the nerves, they quickly disappeared. It is so lovely meeting the bloggers, I hope you can too – are you in/near Brisbane?

Yes, you did indeed look divine. The was something very Lavender and Old Lace about the look, that was so relaxing and lady like. You have a very filmic quality to your looks. SO delightful to see you again. :)

I love that your theme was lace and you found the most perfect lace curtained shop front to take photos at :)

I love the Victorian influence of your outfit! Your hair looks wonderful.

Looks like a fabulous blogger meetup! It's fun meeting up with other bloggers (though I've only ever met with Selina of flying saucer) but completely nerve-racking as you say!

You look lovely - I adore your hair, it looks so pretty and as always, your tights and heels! I actually thought of you this weekend as I donned t bars and socks :)

So sad I couldn't make it to the party - next time!- you all look fabulous and I know how much fun you would have had :)

And I agree with SKM about your looks...you really remind me of the actress Julia Ormond xxx

That is a lovely little dress and the lace under it is perfect!! I'm still rather jealous of your blogger gatherings and am trying to kind of do one myself too except that the nz bloggers i'm in touch with aren't in the same city - wish me luck!!

Miss Karen: thanks !It was a shame you couldn't make this one, but hopefully there is a next time!

kirstie: thanks! My hair is something of a work in progress, I just want it to grow now :) There are a couple of qld (but not Brisbane) bloggers I can think of, but I guess everything here is sooo spread out...

PorcelainBlonde: gosh, thanks – I just looked up Julia Ormond, how flattering! T-bars and socks, cute!

The Paper Doll: thanks! It seems that apart from Melbs bloggers are really spread out, I guess I am v. lucky here. Are things a bit more accessable in NZ (I've not been), could a day out be on the cards? :)
