Last night we went to see a few bands play. (Two shows in two nights! Rock and Roll!) I wore my new (for me) vintage Trent Nathan dress. It has the peter pan collar and cuffs that I really like. Again, we had the joy of flash-pictures, and John was not the most patient photographer ("What, you want more than one?!") as we got these in just before we left.
The dress was perhaps just that little more appropriate as we went to see Nathan Hollywood again. As he was first on we had to get there pretty early, which did mean some sitting about in an empty venue feeling a bit odd. It was worth it – it was his best I've seen yet. Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side were headlining, and were amazing. Completely blew me out of the water. Honestly. The man is a genius – a word that gets bandied around far too often but in this case is absolutely needed. I would have liked to have stayed on for a bit, to dance to the music they play afterwards (the music of my long gone teenage years, I still like it) but John does not care for that, so we went straight home for tea and biscuits (I told you I was rock and roll). In the taxi home I saw the moon; it was massive and orange and really low – did anyone else see that? It was beautiful! I guess that made up for not getting to lurch about to the Ramones ;)
