Today I had a lot of work to do, and lots of sitting in front of the computer means wanting to be comfortable. I also decided to road test my false eyelashes, which I bought ages ago, lost for months, and then found about 6 weeks ago.
I think this all came about because of the influence of the internet; there have been '60s posts on some of my favourite bloggers (Flair to remember's amazing '60s magazine, and Sally Jane Vintage's post on Francoise Hardy) and this, coupled with my love of '60s heroines (I am named after one, after all) led to today's get up...
... and I felt a little like a sixties chanteuse. I wore a man's (my man's!) shirt with a mini skirt, socks and flat patent mary janes.
erm, yes, tongue is firmly in cheek here, in spirit anyway
I loved wearing the eyelashes. They were a little odd at first, but I forgot about them sooner than I expected, and can also report that they stayed put – no stray insect-like things went wandering about my face. I like wearing dark eye make up, too; I just need some decent eyeliners (I don't actually have a good black one; my make up bag is clearly rather lacking) and a grey eye shadow, and I'll be ready to go go!
