bon voyage

cardigan, dress, bag – vintage
tights – thrifted new
shoes – sportsgirl

Well, today saw another stop on my journey through the decades of the last century. I feel as though I should be adding a 'ladies and gentlemen', as there is something in this that makes me feel a little like a '50s air hostess!

I thrifted this vintage dress last Sunday from Savers. I am actually struggling to date it; it is definitely quite old, as it has the 'old' (ie smaller) sizing, and the measurements are listed on the label, too. I don't mind though, I just love it!

It is not a colour I usually wear, but, with the white tights and red shoes, I really do like it. It is still pretty cold here, so I added my nanna cardi. The bag is a vintage vanity case I use to keep my letters from friends overseas in, but perhaps it should get more outings; I love the blue colour and, for some reason (the colours aren't a likely match) it just seemed appropriate.

How gorgeous! You look like you are about to jump on a steam train and have daring (but most ladylike) adventures!

You are so right: The teal-y dress looks amazing with the pale tights and red shoes. What a great combo.

Fabulous colour of dress! I really like it. 50s air stewardess is a good look!

So pert and perky and pretty! That dress kind of reminds me of a diner waitress dress, maybe it's the white detailing?

The dress is so lovely, the red plus aqua is divine. Definately bring the vanity case out more. They make super great handbags especially because they have convenient pockets

I love the dress, and it looks so cute with the shoes! That Fabienne Delsol song is great too. I tried to teach myself how to sing it once, but my French pronounciation is dreadful.

Shannon: ah how fun would that be?! Thanks!

thevintageyear: I agree!

Q's Daydream: thank you!

Nadine: thanks very much! :D

cybill: thanks! I pin curled my hair in the morning... soon to attempt '40s styles... soon!

Sal: thanks! I think purple might be good, too.

leah: thank you! (Welcome aboard flight la la la...)

Skye: thanks! Hey I thought so too – perhaps I just need a little notebook?!

StrikeMatch: thanks! I do like the case, but they aren'tso practical to open when you are standing..?

Robyn: thanks! Me too – I even found the written lyrics online to try to learn, but it's hard!

Louise: thanks very much! The little ones can be hard to find – I WISHG I'd remembered to keep hold of my Grandmother's leather case when I left home. :<

gemmabear: thanks! I definitely felt a little nursey in it (like my alice dress, too) which I do enjoy.

Caf: thanks! Yep, def a waitress thing – I wasn' sure if I wanted to mention it when I posted as I liked the air hostie thing (plus my tights are hostesses!) but it is so true. :) I like it though!

A dreamer: thanks! I love the colour combination, it's so retro-y vintage!

Miss Karen: thanks! Ha maybe not '90s..!
