orange, brown and grey

Today I had another important work thing to do, where I had to be quite dressed up and on my on-iest. This morning was pretty chilly, and demanded tights and woolly cardigans, but by this afternoon the sun had come out and really warmed things up... very typical Melbourne spring weather!

brown pleated skirt – cue

grey woollen cardigan, and grey silk cami (worn underneath) – witchery
orange silk cami and grey ribbed tights – sportsgirl
two tone tan and dark brown heels – country road

I really like this skirt, but haven't worn it much in the past year. I wore it with grey and orange today. This might not seem the most obvious of colour choices, but here is why:

a tiny grey detail next to the orange piping. These are the kind of details I like.

More of the kind of details I like: cream and orange polka dots lining for the waistband.

Lately I have been looking for more skirts and blouses, which are hard to find. I have a few things I can try, so I think this skirt will be getting more outings this spring. I like it's shape; really quite structured but still quite slouchy around the waist, sitting a little lower; a nice change from my usual styles.

i'm always dubious of opaque tights and open shoes but you make it look like "duh" that's how you're SUPPOSED to wear them!
inspiring!

Gorgeous. Love the colour palette. Very sophisticated but still has that sense of whimsy that you always seem to pull off so well!

You look just lovely, those shoes look just fabulous on you, the one person I've seen in them had some nasty cankles, it's good to see they are actually rather amazing. Hmm, all the Cue things that I own (and wear to death) are from years ago too, I never see anything I like there these days.

I rea;ly like the colour combo of burnt orange and browns, the grey makes it a little more unique. Though I would have generally thought to wear those columns in autumn you make them seem perfectly in context. Lovely outfit as always.

Lovely colours for you - very autumnal though!

The little details on the skirt are like a small treat just for the wearer.
