christmas eve

I think my favourite Christmas film is The Nightmare Before Christmas. With this is mind, I spent a wonderful Christmas Eve day lunch in beautiful Park Orchids, wearing something a little dark, a little festive – I do like this time of year.

This garden even has a swing tied to a branch (I found one!) – and, coincidentally, this branch was shaped rather like something from Tim Burton's wonderful film. Spooky!

Now, while these pictures may look quite solitary, I actually spent a lovely afternoon with 20 close relatives (in-laws – a small gathering) eating, drinking, and playing backyard cricket (I run fast and I hit pretty far, too, even in heels) – a very happy Christmas. Happy Christmas to you, too!

I have finally joined in with the bows. And what took me so long? Well, I was looking for the perfect vintage bow tie – at the right price. A few days ago I found three. This dark red one is cotton velvet, and in mint condition; I will be getting a lot of wear out of my new pointy friends.

red bow tie in hair and red shoes – vintage
dress – obus (several years ago)
black and grey stripy socks – sportsgirl (again, several years ago)

music the damned neat neat neat

How funny! My favorite movie is The Nightmare before Christmas. Or rather any Tim Burton film is my favorite. Love your outfit, it captures Halloween town perfectly. I don't mean of course that you look bad! On the contrary you look fabulous and far removed from the mainstream attire.
