For little while now, I have been collecting cases – from big 1960s suit cases to little vanity cases. They are perfect for storing things, and I like them stacked up against a wall. They mostly come from op shops, and I recently found another to add on top to a few of them.

I was pretty chuffed to find this cute little case. In great condition. It had keys! I knew it was going to come home with me. But before it went in my trolley (what can I say?! this is one good op shop!) I had a look inside...

...okay, nice, pristine condition (which is rare, at least for me) pale pink lining, some cute little bottles still there and all good, but... why so heavy?

Oh! YES!

I have been looking for one of these for so long. Now I can relax (or do my household chores; don't want to be neglecting those, now, do we?!) as I dry my pin curls – scientifically, no less. This hairdryer does actually work really well, and the plugged in cap gives me a comedy mushroom head to boot. So while I don't think I will putting Babycat in there after her shampooings (the leaflet suggests drying pets in it) I will be using it when the cold weather rolls around again next year. This is definitely one of my all time favourite op shop finds – which reminds me: don't forget to enter the op shop tour give away!

I collect those too! I have way too many of them, but they're so pretty that I can never resist. Yours are lovely.

And the cases are gorgeous, too.

I collect cases too!
Though mine aren't in quite as good condition as yours as I usually find mine on verge collections here in Perth. My favourites are the ones with gold monograms - the places the cases may have been and people they belonged to are intriguing to think about.
Love your blog :)
Whoa! That's amazing!
Also, from a home decorating standpoint, I agree: cases are a great way to store stuff. Lovely idea.
Oh I would so love to have that little white case! It's just darling and the pink lining makes it perfect!

jelous! you have the midas touch when it come to charity shops :-) xxxx
Oh! So Lucky! I found a bunch of postcards from the 1920's and a little earlier inside a suitcase which was with the rubbish out the back of an Op Shop! Some of them were written on in Italian, some of them plain. That has definitely been my best find!
There are photos up on my blog:

Perfect!
That seems like the coolest find! I'd never heard of such a thing--a walking hair dryer, but the idea of waling around with a mushroom shaped machine in your head is ridiculously good. As is the idea throwing your pet in there afterwards while you go do a few dishes. It's both beautiful and hilarious!
