vintage accessories

This very up-and-down weather we are having is making me think of what I want to wear when it gets colder. Yesterday I found a vintage handbag and hat, and I look forward to wearing them. I have slowly been collecting vintage gloves, too. The pale pink velvet bow here (that needs a refreshing and an iron) is from a 1950s dress that will be perfect for winter. What do you look forward to wearing when the new season starts?

olive green gloves, black gloves, bag, lavender hat, pink velvet bow vintage

I've been trying to think ahead to winter too, although it has been difficult given that it's been scorching hot the past few days. The past few weeks, though, I've been concerning myself with finding a nice slouchy woollen cardigan that I can really get lost in when it gets chilly.

Those gloves look beautiful! I am a scarf and coat fan in winter. Love the winter season. Nice post.

Gorgeous pieces! As we're awaiting spring in Switzerland I'm realling longing for shorter things to wear. But nothing in particular actually.

Lovely. I can't wait to start wearing chambray sundresses and floral skirts without tights....and of course, heeled sandals. I'm so excited for spring and summer.

Oh my... wait, which new season? Right now, with snow on the ground, I'm looking forward to wearing my dresses without tights, and tank tops with tiny thin sweaters on top, and sandals! Oh I adore warm weather.

But my favorite winter goodies are cashmere, vests, and fingerless gloves.

Well we've had a much colder than normal winter here in Texas so I'm very much looking forward to spring when it will start to warm up and I can live in sandals again and let my feet breathe!!! Yeah!!!

Me too- I've been enjoying all the pictures of layers and scarves and whatnot from the snowbound climes.
Your new things are lovely, and I always admire your photography.

Can I ask: after ruining a ribbon I was told one should never iron velvet. Do you have a secret tip then- running it round a warm light globe/saucepan instead of using an actual iron, or something? I'd love to know the proper way to do it!

Thanks for the comments, they were interesting to read.

Madame Bovary: not yet, Autumn starts in a few weeks, so we'll be there soon :)

Emily Kennedy: both! I love watching the seasons change on blogs :) Mmm, cashmere... yes!

jen: that is a really good point! I haven't done anything to the ribbon yet, and I think I might just put it under a heavy book for a while! I actually had to remove it from the dress so that I cold wash the dress, and put poppers on them for easy attachment after each wash... :)

Oooh I like the bag. I am looking for a similar one in black too. Might have to trawl Etsy for it. :-D

The bow is way cute too. And so many awesome gloves!

I'm looking forward to wearing coats and jackets again. And tights. Cos I have to get some new ones. And my oxfords.
Wish it would rain more and be cold already! Melbourne is so pretty in winter (at least I think so)
