new things: new new, new old, and new-for-me vintage

I kinda like how a new season warrants new things. You know, absolute essentials. All absolutely necessary, of course. Well, more or less. Here are my latest additions. Some are brand new (I am not averse to new things, as in first hand from the shops, at all, if they are exactly what I am after), some are thrifted, and some are rather special vintage finds.

As we are heading into winter, I need some warm, rain proof boots. And then I needed rain proof booties (big difference, oh yes!) too. SO practical; I mean, they are practically wellies. Really.

A well-fitting knee length coat (which I find are very hard to, um, find) and a mustard scarf for keeping warm. Can one ever have too many scarves? I think not.

Bows for my hair... and more on leopard print soon.

A good sized vintage red handbag. Late '50s early '60s, I am not sure which.

And these... I love finding these...

... because they are fully fashioned. Vintage new old stock. Vintage new old stockings. Yes!

I think you're going to find yourself with a lot of comments over that red bag! It's to die for! I'm so tempted to buy vintage stockings but I put holes and runs into mine so often I just stick with the 2 for $5 sale at Sears. For the winter I get these great wool stockings by Bella over at Sock Dreams, they're $30 but they last the winter and keep you very warm since I'm always wearing skirts and dresses in the wintertime!

Thanks so much for a lovely blog!

Woah, those amazing shoes are from Target?! I am also not averse to mall shopping, but I never would've picked those for a Target pair! Swoon.

Hello, btw - I love your blog :)

Very nice finds. I see I'm not the only one thinking about my winter wardrobe...A couple of weeks ago I bought the Target black and white booties after convincing myself that they fitted me. I got them home and couldn't avoid the fact that they were never going to stay on my skinny feet so I returned them :(

Mmmm, shoes.... Good shoes!

Also, a mustard scarf is so crazy flattering on some skin types. I want one still, even though I have a sunny yellow scarf already.
