autumn floral skirt

auflsk d

silk scarf, top, skirt :: op shops
shoes :: sportsgirl
otk socks :: some fancy brand whose name I forget
bag :: c/o mimco

Last Saturday we headed into town to pick up some macaroons for later, and then headed to the beach. I felt like wearing florals, but not the light bright spring and summer kind, so this black floral skirt was perfect. I love the darker colours of the flowers, and while I usually don't like primary colours and/or green together, in this case I do – I think they really work.

Your photos just keep getting better and better! I love the timing of that second shot, hehe! You're right, that skirt is perfect! Looks very autumny :)
That sky sure looks turbulent! Were you affected by the floods in Melbourne? They've been on the news here in Adelaide.
Thanks for posting!

The pictures of the sky are so incredibly beautiful, your pictures are always so inspiring. :) That skirt is a really cool take on florals too! Another fabulous post.

Long time reader, first comment! You look amazing, I really like how you've worked a casual floral into something a bit more mysterious! The picture with the autumn lead falling is beautiful!

Erin: thanks! But I must confess that I have someone taking these for me (fiance) and is being very patient with my detailed instructions!

Well, our roof leaked heaps with the rain, but we are up quite high and out the floods way. So much water everywhere though, and I feel sorry for the people that did get flooded, stuck on trains etc...

Vintage Hippo: thanks very much! I almost didn't post these at all, so I am glad you like them too (I do!) :)

Chacha.: thanks! Yeah it felt really nice and cheery on such a grey day :)

vintageveggie: isn't fall the best! Love the leaves too :D

Sleekit: hehe thanks! I think it did!

Miss Tallulah Porkchop: thanks! It was meant to be a full length but I wanted the shoes to have a pic... re-crop time! :)

Sarah: thanks very much, and thanks for commenting :) Hehe yes I did feel a bit gypsy, in a good way! x

Emma: thanks! I think my taste in shoes is the most constant thing, I have always loved wooden soles, since my teens... I need to update these ones though, they are wearing down. :)

ilonapa: thanks! I am debating (with myself, ha) whether I should try to take good pics or just snappy pics. I use a Canon EOS 450D and am usually too lazy to change the lense, so it's almost always the 18-55, and sometimes the 55-250. I do edit them in Photoshop, though, which makes them look much better! :)

Those socks weren't from that shop right near Strike Bowling at QV? On Lt Lonsdale?
Some kind of cool Danish design shop - had some nice knee-high socks. I scored two pairs - one in black and one in seafoam green. Not sure what to wear the green ones with yet. I have the shoes but what colour on top?

Such beautiful colours in that skirt. You captured the storm before it hit and it hit hard. The rain was relentless.

These are some gorgeous pictures of the stormy sky. That's the thing about here in Victoria, it can be sunny one minute and storms the next.
