winter, polka dots and bike rides

peachhai h

Well, happy First Official Day of Winter to you! This morning we woke up to just-above-freezing temperatures and then the sun, after a stretch and a yawn and perhaps several cups of coffee, got itself going, so that by this afternoon it was beautiful, sunny and warm! I cancelled my much needed hair cut (I hate going the the hair dressers, it's a ridiculous irrational fear but there it is) and went on a bike ride.

I am wearing my make up in a much more 1940s inspired style, which I like with my very '40s hair, tied with a scarf and complete with, of course, a bow!

peachhai r

see how much I need my hair cut?!

Oh, to bike ride in the country sans helmet. Of course, the reality is a bit different...

... but enough of Serious Face. It was so nice – although pretty unusual! – to be able to wear so little in a Melbourne winter. It won't last, so I am making the most of it!

I just love love your outfit here. That yellow shirt is gorgeous! I think far too many people (here in the UK anyway) tend to revert to lots of black and grey in the long winter months - I say yes to lots of lovely colours all year round! Where did you get that shirt, is it vintage?

Oh so lucky you had good weather today, Sydney is doing the horrible "it's winter and I'll rain if I want to" song. And I'm absolutely loving that gorgeous matte red lip you're wearing, what it is if you don't mind me asking?

You look so lovely with the scarf bow hairdo! I really like your blouse too, the sleeve is what I name "Snow White-like".

Have a great day.

You dont need a hair cut its beautiful and I think us long haired ladies all have a fear of the hairdressers lol An inch can feel like a meter cant it?

You look lovely in yellow, and I love your skirt! I wish I could pull off red lipstick as well as you, but sadly, I am resigned to a nude-lip-only fate!

Even with a bike helmet on you still look gorgeous.
I love the yellow blouse. You don't see the colour yellow being used much in fashion, which is a shame, as it is such a cheerful colour. Don't you think?

Ooooh, I'm with you there on the fear of the hairdressers! Just because some clients like to treat a haircut like a counselling session doesn't mean I want to, so stop asking me invasive questions about my love life! I just want to close my eyes and relax for half an hour while a professional pampers me... maybe a 'silent hairdressers' is a good business idea...

Looking GLORIOUS! I can never tie bows with scarves like that. EVER. Uber jealous! :)

You look lovely! Funny, it's the first day of summer here in Finland and I can wear the same kind of clothes as you right now - and that's only because today happens to be warmer than usual :)

I just found your blog via Andi B. Goode and I think you are so lovely!

Wasn't it funny to have such a warm beginning to summer? I too wish I could ride helmet-less, I have a skating helmet which isn't too bad, but it's not very fashionable!
