summer, bee hive

bee hive summer

Well, we are at the end of another week! And I must say I am pretty glad to have this one over – it's been a bit of a roller coaster one. Ups and downs and roundabouts. There may or may not have been tears, which may or may not have been mopped up with carrot cake.

In the middle of all this, though, Melbourne had some absolutely beautiful weather – perfect summer days in the middle of winter. I have had great big messy bee hive hair all week, which I think is reflecting the chaos of everything for me at the moment. (This pic also shows that massive scar on my back, which is going to be tattooed over/around soon. Soon soon soon. At some point soon.)

It's not all bad chaos, I must add; it's just having to empty out two bedrooms (and all our clothes) and find room for them in other parts of or little home, the kitchen shelves on the floor being painted (and kitchen shelves' contents on top of our clothes) and having no time to really tackle anything just yet makes for assault course living! Tomorrow (Saturday) should see some real progress though. Phew.

I hope you all have lovely weekends! I look forward to being back next week, with some meatier posts and hey maybe some set hair! :D xxx

I've been reading your blog for quite some time, I'm a vintage loving girl too, but I'm too shy to talk to other people at forums, etc and even commenting on blogs. But the moment I saw your last posts the 1st thing that came into my mind was: "That's the most beautiful woman I've seen in my entire life, how can one be so pretty?"
and then I decided I should tell you that, cause you deserve. Despite being gorgeous, you dress so well and makes beatiful color combinations... and by reading your posts I imagine you're such a sweet creature!
Sorry for being a little creepy saying all this things anonymously, but like I said, I'm very shy but had to say that.

I can totally relate to your chaos. Its now reached 18 months for me of living in renovation central - minus a laundry and with various demolished walls. Fingers crossed it gets easier xx Fran

No! Don't tattoo over the scar! I think it's sweet. Okay, maybe I'm just strange but I think it's at the least, harmless, and at the best, characterful...

PS For messy hair, I have to say that's pretty fab.

‪Maxabella‬: thanks – I'm loving the messy too. Maybe next week I will do the opposite and be super-neat?! :D

‪Anonymous‬: that is one of the nicest comments I have ever had. Thank you very much :) It's not creepy it was really quite touching and has made my day!

‪Dial V for Vintage‬ : thanks! :D

‪Fran‬ : OMG I hope you get yours all finished soon! And I'm sure it'l be worth the chaos in the end, for both of us :)

‪lady liquor vintage.‬ : thanks! I think messy beehives suit me more than the tidy ones, but I'm not sure why…

‪Andi B. Goode‬: hehe thanks my love, I am already having a better time of it! x

‪Dakota‬ : thanks so much – and I always love your hair :D

‪Miss Marie‬: hehe thanks, I know what you mean, but I have scars (on my face, arch!) that I won't tattoo (obv!) and I am taking ages getting it organised anyway! :D Oh, and thanks!

‪Rachel‬ : thanks! Yep, messy hair is just sometimes the best way! :)

‪Jamie Rose‬ : thanks very much :)

‪Blithely Unaware‬ : I know, it was very lovely to read that. It is so amazing how many kind people there are :) And yes, beehives!!! :D :D

‪The Vintage Housewife‬ : hehe I have the thickest hair ever, it's ridiculous… I recently went to the hair dressers and had it thinned out heaps. which has made it much more manageable. Before it was out of control!

I've been trying out the bee hive a couple of times lately, managed to get it really rather high yesterday which was fun.

I have a rag curling question for you: I know in your tutorial you twisted them up to around your ear, but do you leave the little layers round the front out or do something with them?

Has anybody ever told you that you look almost identical to Fran Drescher from The Nanny?? You have much better taste than her in clothing, but your face structure, skin color, lip color, hair color....its a dead ringer for her. :P Just thought I'd mention it!!
