Hello! Here is a video of my everyday makeup, which is inspired by classic vintage and pinup looks. This is what I use:
concealer, foundation – laura mercier (worth every cent)
face powder (loose) – T Leclerc
eyeshadow – sportsgirl (cheapies and goodies)
eyebrow pencil, liquid eyeliner, mascara – australis (cheap and really good!)
blusher – Christian Dior (and I am looking for new, matte blushers in lots of colours!)
lip liner, lipstick – mac, cherry and russian red
I hope you like it!
I always do my makeup before I do my hair – just from habit, really – so next time I will share a video on how I do my hair. I will do the hairstyle I had a few posts back, with rolls/victory rolls/call 'em what you like. See you soon! xxx

Oh my, this is my favourite makeup tutorial ever! I love it. I have to say though, you look just as lovely before your "face" has been applied as after :)
I wish I looked that good in 3 minutes and 17 seconds, you are a pro with the liquid eyeliner. Thanks for the video.
Lilian Harlow: aww thanks! Nahhh, that's just photobooth not showing up my flaws..! ;)
Green Tea and Cupcakes: hehe I wish it only took 3.17mins too! Imagine how good mornings would be then..! :D
This is mine everyday look too :).
You can't fake amazing bone structure Miss ;) No amount of kind lighting can give you that.
I'm dying to see the next hairstyle tutorial too!
I love it! You're such a classic beauty... This is my very first comment at your blog but I've been reading almost from the start :D. You're so chic!
Great video! You're so beautiful, I love the way you do your makeup :]
Great tutorial, thank you so much for sharing it!

Loved watching this! One questions - your Mac lippy - is it the matte one? I saw you push your lips together which has made me wonder if you have it in a different finish? I got Ruby Woo in matte and it was roooobish!
Hey, I make a giveaway on my blog, do you want participate ? A lovely pair of blue earrings as a gift !
xx, see you soon !

We have the same way to make-up!
I would be also happy if it could be done in 3.17mins...
When I want to be perfect to go out hairs and make-up, I spend at least 1 hour in my bathroom and my husband become crazy and always ask me why I cannot do it faster...
Adorable video! You are too gorgeous for words, with and without makeup!
I'm so glad you told us what lipstick you use! I've got Amazon open in a different tab and I'm ordering it as I type! Also, you look great with and without makeup!

This is such a great tutorial. Can't wait for the victory rolls tutorial - I'm wondering about a vintage hairstyle for my wedding to match my 50s New Look dress.
Thanks for this great tutorial. Watching this has made me realise I simply MUST learn how to do liquid eyeliner. I don't wear that b/c I always mess it up and end up looking like a member of a bad 80s rock band (think KISS or Alice Cooper!). I love some of the comments about how long it takes to do make up - I always take AGES doing my hair and the kids are always going crazy, getting impatient.
Absolutely Gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing... you are super cute!! ;)
I love that australis mascara also, so now I'm going to try the eyebrow pencil and liquid eyeliner too :)
Love the music too... much fun!! xx
Hi Esme, as a fellow vintage loving Melbourne girl, I loved this post!
Have you tried cream blush? I love the Bobbi Brown one and the Becca Beach Tint.
Holly
Lilian Harlow hehe you're too nice… can you see my spots?! Ha! ;D I will do the hair tut next week. I've been having lots of fun with hair styles lately, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Carrie : wow thanks so much! It is nice to have you commenting – hello! :D
Katha Strophe : thanks so much! :D
witch hare: thanks for watching!
LandGirl1980 : yep the matte one – and somehow the consistency is different to the matte ruby woo I tried a couple of years ago – I thought it was rubbish, too! So dry I could barely apply it, and it would peel off in sheets, bler. I've almost finished my second Russian Red in matte and it is amazing. Need third tube! x Let me know what you think if you try it! :D
Laurence : haha I think my hubby-to-be can definitely relate to that!
Miss Mae: hehe thanks!
Mabel : thanks – and I am glad I can help recommend good lipsticks! Mac's Russian Red is my all time favourite.
bespokehome : the victory rolls are more 1940s, but that doesn't really matter :) I can't wait to upload it! :D
Vintagesuburbia : How funny I waasn just thinking about you this week! How are you? hehe 3.17 would be a dream! The eye liner is just a little practice and maybe not such hard judging – mine looks a little different everyday, but that's fine! :D
The Mint Palace : thanks! I cannot speak highly enough of the Australis stuff – but I didn;t like their foundation! Their eye make up bits are awesome though, so I am happy with that.
Holly: Hello fellow Melbourne vintage loving girl! :D I LOVE cream blusher. I'll have to give the Bobbi Brown one a try, I've heard so much good stuff about Bobbi Brown :D Do you blog at all?
This is actually one makeup tute I watch the whole way through - because it was quick and easy and had funky music! I loved your expressions!

Bravo! Beautiful :) Danielle
Some great make-up tips here - thank you for posting. although ther are books that deal with retro make-up, it is far easier and more instructive watching a video such as yours.
I will be sending many aspiring retro models to study your techniques! Well done.
MAC DIVA in MATTE is the closest to the actual red they wore in the 40's . Also, you need much fuller eyebrows to sport the look as yours look like flapper brows. And only a few women had the long hair a tue 40's vintage look had really short hair in curls ..
Anonymous: you seem to think this is a tut for an exact 1940s look and I'm not sure why?! As the title says, this is my everyday makeup...
Interesting points; never heard that about the Mac Diva lipstick but to say only one shade is right seems absurd to me! I'm English; should I be wearing beetroot on my lips to be era accurate?! My eyebrows don't grow much thicker – and if you look at Hedy Lamarr or Lana Turner you will see they did not have thick brows! "Flapper" brows are entirely different to mine here, and "really short hair in curls" is in fact a much more early '30s thing.
To suggest cookie cutter looks for any era is funny and costume-y and simply not what I am interested in at all!
I could took about the nuances of vintage makeup till the cows come home and would be happy to chat about it with you – if you leave a name! To post anon. comments comes across as trolling. Leave your name next time and we can talk! :D
