pale blue polka dots and red shoes (and more hot windy days)

eyelet blue red windy d

So, another hot and windy day! This dress is a recent op shop score and was perfect; the skirt doesn't go up over my head! It did, however, fill up with air every time the wind blew which I thought was pretty entertaining, really.

EDIT: dress and hair scarf: op shop, shoes: joanne mercer, socks and hair flower: sportsgirl bangles: lovisa

Super-cute outfit and pictures! I love the colour scheme of your outfit. And I love that you included the silly photos of the dress ballooning up with air - they're fun.

Personally, I don't mind wearing full skirts on windy days, so long as they're below the knee. When they're that length and you're wearing petticoats, they tend to blow about but not reveal too much. Perhaps it's just the wee bit of Marilyn in me...

This outfit is perfection! Love it - and completely understand the blowing up dress issue! My wardrobe seems to consist 90% of circle/gathered skirts and dresses, makes windy days SOOOOOOO difficult!!!

Gorgeous as usual and perfect for our fickle Melbourne weather. The more I see those shoes I think I may have to hunt them down.

magnolia: hehe thanks! :D

Debi: thanks, me too; they are my fun happy sunglasses!

Vintage Hippo: hehe it was a happy coincidence! But I did notice it and smile before talking the pics ;)

Miss Marie: thansk! Oh I love using silly pics; I'd hate to be po faced on here or take myself too seriously! :D I like the petticoat idea, but it was so windy that day that trees were almost blowing down, so even longer circle skirts were a no-no for me! :D

Gaby and Jane: thanks so much! :D Me too. I need to get some slimmer skirts stat!

cclarebear : thanks! I thought the cute glasses needed a moment to themselves ;)

Rusty Hoe: thanks! Oh, the shoes... well, I am considering a second pair – sad but true! :D Can't recommend them enough! x

Rae Veda: thanks very much! I love ankle socks in summer; cute and practical! x

Those shoes, so gorgeous!!

They look just like an Alexander McQueen pair I recently found and blogged..

Presuming you didn't spend $800 on those babies, you got yourself a bargain! :D

Pretty shoes! My sisters bought me a similar pair but in a mustard yellow and I am now totally smitten with that faux wedge, it's so unusual!

Fourth Daughter : ah yep they are pretty high! Still it's no good having shoes you love but don't want to wear because they are too high, as I know from experience! :D There are a few red platforms around at the moment, hope you find the perfect ones from these!

Carousel Dreams : thanks! Haha glad you like them! And welcome to my blog! I am going to check your out right now, fellow Melbourne girl! :D

Lightning Heart : they are quite possibly my favourite shoes of all time :)

Anniina: thanks very much! Well, our spring has since gone back to winter here – freezing! :D

Omega : ooh I'll have a look. Yep, thankfully less than $800!

Frankly My Dear : thanks very much! I KEEP forgetting to list where my stuff comes from, I'll go and edit it. The shoes are Joanne Mercer, and the socks are from sportsgirl :)

Vivian : haha yes, they are! THey are fun to wear :D

Gabby : thanks very much! I do like wearing the vintage inspired styles. I will do some tuts v soon!

Agnus : thanks very much, I am so chuffed! :D

Rosalinda Tjioe : thanks! Yep red white and blue, always a winner :) Especially pale blue!

LITTLE KESS: hehe thank you!

Madame Bovary : thanks! :D

Roisin Muldoon : oh mustard sounds amazing! Where from, if you don't mind me asking? Mustard wedges would be amazing! :D

Pale blue & red is such a good combo! I've recently rediscovered how much I like it. And ahhh how cute is your little front curl? Always so neat! When I do them they're always fluffy :p

I love love love your sunnies! Did you get them in Melbourne? If so, do you remember where? I've been on the hunt for a pair that suit me, and I haven't found them yet...

Oh gosh - that red & blue together is one of my favourite colour combinations! Especially love the shoes/socks - a little bit Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) sans sparkles.
