grey buttons, summer dress

grey button dress c
dress :: veronika maine. c 2006

When I was sorting out my wardrobe the other day, I came across this dress. I bought it around five years ago, and it's still in perfect shape – and I still love it! It's funny how you can feel that your style may have changed over the years, but ultimately there are still things that you love during those years and beyond.

As much as I loved the style of the '40's – '50's back then, I didn't wear it, but I fell in love with this rather 50's/early '60's style dress as soon as I saw it. The buttons got me. They are functioning, too! I can't say I have a use for them yet, though... Anyway, this dress was perfect for a warm but windy day; the full skirt is not full enough to be blown up and away!

I also decided that pink lips and nails was nice with the greys and greens – and a nice change from my usual red, too.

Do you find you have things in your wardrobe that you love for years?

Gorgeous dress.

I am loving the pink for a change, I have done that today, myself. I do feel a little self-conscious without my red lip, I must confess.

Lastly, cute hair.

Indeed I do! I have a black skirt with a big rose on it that I adore.

What be that clicker thing in thy hand, beauty?

ps) my jacket is brown *wink*

Oh, I ADORE that dress! I find myself favouring 50-60s dresses more these days and one of the reasons is their more wind resistant skirts. :)

This dress is so lovely! Yellow and grey and so great together - a dull lifeless colour with probably the happiest colour there is.

Sometimes I find myself buying the same clothes that I have owned previously, or even similar to ones that my mother has worn when I was young.

I want to raid your closet!!! I recently found a pair of jeans in my closet that I'd forgotten I'd bought. Now I wear them a lot :) I love your hairstyle!

What a stunning dress - the buttons really are eye-catching! I do have a few things that I've loved for years. Alas, many of them don't fit me now!

You look gorgeous! And that dress is lovely. <3

May I ask what lipstick and nail polish you are wearing? They're both very pretty.

Such a pretty dress. I really like the pink lipstick....very pretty. And I really like what you've been doing with your hair. Are you going to post up some tutorials? That would be great :)

Re-discovering clothes is wonderful - I 'found' a skirt when I went through my wardrobe recently & I'm sure it's going to get lots of wear this year :)

Alli: I have a hair tut that's almost ready to post (I just need to add music) and I will do some on these styles, too, if you like! Happy to! :D

Nena: MAC's Girl About Town lipstick, and a sportsgirl pink, called, funnily enough, lipstick :)

That's lovely. For me it's this vintage black and white eyelet dress.

I've had it for years. Somehow it always fits me perfectly and it always fits my style.

Oh, I wish my closet was that organized! But anyway, that is such a pretty dress and it looks like it fits you perfectly. The button detail is really cool, too.
As for owning stuff for ages that I still love... probably a pair of black lace-up riding boots that I was given when I was 17. I can wear them with everything except pajamas. ;)
