red and blue and heat and famous towers

eifel tower dress a

Endless hot days, sleepless hot nights. Sun dresses essential. I genuinely need more..! This one is perfect and it really needs some friends..! It's by Bernie Dexter. I've seen another great dress in this print which I really want, but would it be weird to have two dresses in the same fabric?

And I want to say a hello to my new readers! I can see that you are here. I also want to say a thank you to you all – my posting schedule has been a little out of whack these past few days and you have stuck around. You're the best! How about you introduce yourselves with something you love at the moment in the comments? I'll go first: ummmmm... I am loving pale lilac nail varnish and plenty of blusher. Your turn! x

Hi Esme!

I don't think it's strange to have two dresses in the same print - I have a few like that! So you know, if you wanted to make a dress in that fabric, it's by Michael Miller and is fairly easily available.

Right now it's winter in the UK so no summer dresses for me but I love rice krispie buns, large cups of coffee on cold mornings and winter sunshine x

I love falling asleep to the sound of rain on the roof.

& I don't think two dresses out of the same fabric is weird :)

Hi Esme, i'm Leia, one of your new readers. I stumbled across your blog a few weeks ago while googling for pictures of nail varnishes to inspire my next manicure. Lilac nails are a favorite of mine also. I've spent the last few weekends exploring your entire blog and admiring all your beautiful pictures and outfits. They have really inspired me to start thinking about trying some new styles for myself.

Besides your gorgeous pink headphones, curently i'm in love with anything in black patent leather and recently splurged on a nice glossy patent leather bag and matching purse. Next on the list are black patent shoes and belts.

Thanks for all the creativity and beauty. You have such impeccable taste and style.

Oh I love that dress! The print is so sweet.
My favourite things at the moment are my sweet white sandals and coral or peachy organge and baby blue together...which I just realised are almost the colour of your dress!

Hello! At the moment I am loving your blog (naturally!), I'm loving how the hours disappear when browsing etsy and also, rather narcissistically, I am loving reading about myself- or rather my star sign (and other people's)- at http://songsdomain.tripod.com/zodiac/index.html ...Let me tell you, even if you don't believe in astrology, it is spookily accurate!!

I am one of your new readers! Yes. I must say I have so enjoyed visiting your blog at least twice a day! I am trying to go back and read your wonderful archives as time permits. Your blog is a delightful break for me. What is fun is that here I am in North Carolina, USA, while you are in Melbourne, Australia, and are ahead of us in time. When I check late at night, you are up about your day and have done your morning post. When I check your blog in the early morning, you are in bed waiting for the next day! LOL.

Hmmm, what have I been loving lately? Well, researching skin care, as I approach the age of 49, and also new ways to put up my long hair!

I sure enjoy your blog!
xoxo

hi! right now I'm loving anything reminiscent of springtime (winter is about half way over, here in the US) ...pinks & corals, sundresses (your adorable bernie dexter frock included), and also nautical themes. Spring can not get here fast enough!

Hi! I'm one of your new lurkers ;o) I'm the reason you've been noticing stats all over your posts, lol. You've inspired me to check out some new vintage shops in my area. I have had GREAT success and cash dropped!

So that will be my thing to love at the moment: Living in a city where thrift shops are aplenty.

I don't think you could get much better than an Eiffel Tower print dress. I want one ha ha. My fave things at the moment - Jurlique rose mist, my hibiscus print dress. But it's been cold here - not much of a summer in New Zealand :(

I'm a pretty new reader so Hi, hello :) I'm currently loving anything WWII related, and sheer red lip tint!

Your short hair just looks so fun! I have a pattern for this exact dress from the 40's-50's that i've been meaning to make, but it seems like everytime I think about doing it I can never find the right fabric! It sure looks comfy though

I am not very new here, but don't think I have ever commented before. I am also originally from London, but now call Haifa home. I am enjoying wearing nail varnish on a regular basis for the first time since high-school, and days when it is dry enough to wear my recently-thrifted, unworn-by-previous-owner, knee-high chartreuse suede platform boots

Gwen said...

Hi! I'm new, I love learning about vintage, found your blog by googling vintage. You have amazing color choices/combinations and style.

It is so damn cold in Germany (-10° Celsius), so at the moment I love to cuddle with my dog and eat, drink all kinds of herbal teas and - buying vintage dresses via etsy in summer colors like lemon yellow, ligth pink, mint green or raspberry red.

I'll confess, I only just recently found you (behind the time,s I know!) I'm sure it's probably been said to death, but I absolutely love your sense of style! I know so many that go for a vintage look and sadly, either don't commit all the way to the look or it just doesn't suit them. It's so nice to see someone taking advantage of a look that works for them. It's also very refreshing to see a gal who's bucking the tan skin trend. To me, dark hair, pale skin, and red lips has always been the epitome of beauty. Well done!

My favourite clothing things? Long flowing maxi skirts, boots, boots, and more boots (off the calf/knee-high variety), and costumes! I'm all about costumes. :)

Hi! I'm new to your blog and loving it! I'm personally loving long sheer skirts with a solid mini skirt under right now! Little windy and cold in Southern California for that right now. Your dresses are great and always remind me to post more of my dresses on my blog (when it's not cold haha) stylishadventures.blogspot.com. So thanks for that!
Cheers!

I've been lusting over Bernie Dexter's dresses (and pants! and skirts!) for while now. They seem to have such a flattering and perfect cut! But it's below 0°C over here so I told myself I have to save my money and maybe buy one in the summer ;-).

Being in Brisbane this week has made me realise I love Melbourne! The humidity up there absolutely kills me! And I forgot sunscreen so I got burnt :( Can you recommend a great sunscreen? Your skin is so beautiful and pale!

Love your blog!

Hi, I just love seeing your sundresses while it's freezing around here... and today I also love the snow that finally fell this night and the look of a winebottle that uncorked itself on the balcony and froze (the other one is still ok, I wonder what's the difference). Greetings from Berlin.

Hello there,

I'm also a Melbournite, I've been following your blog for a couple of years now but have always been a lurker. I just saw your post again about introductions so thought it was about time to make myself known.

I love the way we can share our stories and loves with everyone online. I love seeing your lovely outfits, someone elses lovely gardens and I hope that there are people who love seeing my photographs.

My little space in the world is about sharing the things that I see. Even though Melbourne is such a busy place I try to capture stillness and the remarkable beauty that surrounds us everyday. Some of my photos are from places around the Western Suburbs that aren't in any Melbourne guidebooks or tour routes however they are such a part of our wonderful city that it's a shame that people don't see them.

Thank you for sharing your lovely lifestyle. I always make sure I have a cup of tea when reading your blog.

Your ever faithful lurker- Meg
