saturday's makeup and a new lipstick colour

I've realised I am possibly staying in something of a salmon theme but that's ok! I like it as a food and I like it as a colour, too. A few of you asked me about the shade of lipstick I was wearing in my Sunday post, with the blue cape dress, and that's good because I was going to post about it anyway! Lime Crime recently sent me some goodies and it was great timing – I was keen to try an orange lipstick with my red hair. This shade is "My Beautiful Rocket" and I love it! It is a perfect change for those days when I want something prettier and softer looking than my usual bold red. It's creamy and opaque and lovely to wear – and I will be wearing it a lot over the next few months. I think it will look good with purple or green eyeshadow, too – time to have a play, I think!

Very pretty! That color looks wonderful on you. (And I envy your hair color..I tried to go red from black a little while ago and ended up going back to black because it faded so quickly!)

I used to be obsessed with orange lipstick, but man oh man does it show the chappedness of my lips!

Absolutely gorgeous! You look spectacular with that orange lipstick.. I'm inspired to get one in that type of colour myself. Always considered orange a difficult colour but I think I will have to change my mind now. :)

ConstantlyAlice: oh, getting black out of hair can be so hard! I still want to be lighter. And thank you x

LITTLE KESS: haha I did it back in February! Why does the orange show chap-ness more than other colours on you?

Georgia: thank you! Big curls day :)

ScatterrBrained: ha if only!

retroolivia.com: it's much easier to wear than I thought it might be... :D

Love this coral shade with your red hair!!! Have you ever tried Lime Crime's eye shadows? I really want to try them and thought to ask you because you know so much about makeup! All of that Lime Crime stuff looks so good, I just wish they had it at the Myer makeup counter!

I love this orange. I've been meaning to find one but just haven't got around to it. The blue and orange are perfection together.

What a gorgeous colour. I have been on the look out for a coral / salmon lip colour for so long. It works so beautifully with blue!

Rusty Hoe: thanks but hahaha I was just trying to find somewhere that wasn't too dark to take a not-blurry picture, and the mirror helped! :D

Meg Eileen Carroll: thanks! It's hard to find oranges, isn't it?

Laura: thanks! Pin curls, over night :) I used conditioner for a change when I washed my hair beforehand, so maybe that's why they're so massive!

Miss Tallulah Porkchop: hehe that's quite the compliment! I dunno, I think I look like I'm about to sneeze ;)

Ula: thanks! I do like this one. I want to try it with some 1930s makeup looks, as I think it would work well for that :)

Just discovered you blog via another blog, and I absolutely love it. I have to admit too, you look stunning with red hair and matching lips. You look straight out of Mad Men. Possibly even better! You've got yourself a new follower!

Very, very pretty hue. I've played around with corals and oranges over the years, but have yet to find the perfect one (they did to clash with the pink undertones in my skin). I'm tempted by this one though, especially seeing how beautiful it looks on you, a fellow red haired gal.
