vintage grey coat and mustard scarf

vintage coat mustard scarf a vintage coat mustard scarf b
Hello! Hope you are having a great weekend. Here is a quick post, from yesterday. I wore my new (to me me, obviously) grey vintage coat, which I believe is later 1940's, with my Sportsgirl mustard scarf. I love my coat, and am so happy I finally got one. It is perfect at keeping out the cold and rain and snuggling into... and collecting a few creases, too, but that's pure wool for you! I also wore my tan peeptoe shoes because we woke up to blue skies, and the rain only started when I left the house. Weather reports, you can't always trust 'em! It didn't matter too much anyway, as we were nice and cosy inside the beautiful Abbotsford Convent, having a delicious Japanese lunch with a couple of friends. It was a pretty good way to spend a grey, drizzly afternoon. Unfortunately, it looks as though there is something wrong with my camera, and the focus doesn't seem to want to work at the moment... I'll have to have more of a look at it, and try to not look at Nikons online!

I have that exact scarf!!

Soo... does this coat have a name?

I can't beieve that coat is so old. It appears to be in amazing nick. I love it when I get compliments on my vintage stuff. If I'm not yelling "$10!" at them, I am yelling "This dress is 70 years old! 70!" It still amazes me they are still intact.

I hate winter dressing. How does one stay warm without frezzinr, or looking 10ks heaver due to layers and layers and layers. Hmpf.

I love chilly, rainy days! Autumn is the best season (very jealous, it's nearly summer in the U.S.). Your coat is gorgeous.

I like the mustard scarf combined with your red hair. That's a perfect combination. The convent in the background is a wonderful place

Love your coat! There's a store not far away from here that has vintage clothing. I stopped by a few weeks back and wouldn't you know they were moving things around and had that part closed off! Poo. Maybe I can swing by this week! We are heading into summer here, so maybe I will find a coat at a great price for next winter! My current coats are both thrifted and I love, love them! By the way, love the colors in the pictures!

I love how you combine the old new and the new new. And I'm really REALLY looking forward to your post on dating and caring for vintage clothes. I had a mishap while hand washing my Edwardian camisole top this weekend and I'm devastated.

I love the coat and your colorful accessories, i.e. bag and scarf. Those sandals and tights are darling too. It looks so cold there. I live near San Francisco, and it's so sunny and getting warm.

Hello! I don't usually comment, but I had to say - I had such scarf envy that I went and hunted it down and made my first Esme and the Laneway inspired purchase.

Thanks for keeping up this gorgeous site, I am often inspired by your colourful style!
