wednesday's makeup and the next things

makueup june
This is the makeup I wore on Wednesday. Bourjois foundation and mascara, Lime Crime lipstick, my beloved Australis eyebrow pencil (need a new one! I am thinking about a powder for my eyebrows next, though. What do you think of them?), a great palette of eye shadows from Sportsgirl, Clinique concealer (that I want to replace with a creamier, greasier one for these cold winter months) and a blush that I'm about to replace with a much better one and will tell you about soon, and my new Illamasqua bright pink lip liner that I bought a couple of weekends ago. I couldn't wear any makeup yesterday and I miss it already! And all of a sudden, I want a matte orange eyeshadow. I might have to go makeup shopping this weekend! What do you want to do with your weekend? Happy Friday! x

I use a super old Stila eyebrow powder for my blondeish brows. It's perfect for building up to the look I want, since I can add more powder or less, depending on how I'm feeling. I genuinely change out ALL my makeup after a few months, as you do, but this thing has been around literally for 8 years+.

Anna: that sounds good. I like the idea of being able to build it up. And 8 years+ is a good recommendation! Thanks! "D

I use powder eyebrow colour. Currently an Estée Lauder one that is really good. I've found theres not a big diff between brands so just get whatever I feel like at the time I run out. They come with wax usually and that always runs out first. I wish I could find a brand that actually realized this and gave you more wax stuff!!
As for concealer, I still swear by my Kryolan colour wheel, still going strong after about 7 years! Seriously, nothing beats this stuff!! Covers every spot and dark shadow you could imagine :-)

Hey Esme! Love your blog you pretty wee thing you!! I am a natural red head with white eyebrows which I tint brown, I use a smashbox eyebrow powder that comes in three different shades and has a grease option for holding them in place.

Its great because if you've seen Lisa Freemont Streets video on eyebrows she recommends graduating the colour from light in the middle to dark on the outside.

I use a powder, I find it easier to get the look I want for brows. Bourjois was the first makeup I bought (the ivory powder which is perfect for my pale skin), and I love it more and more every time I buy refills. Ironically, I'm going make up shopping today in Melbourne. I may not get anything, but all of Mac's colourful palettes might tempt me. I wish MAC and benefit were accessible in Geelong.

I love Illamasqua. Get in touch if you ever want cheap makeup. I have a staff pass for Estee Lauder staff shop, which stocks Clinique, Mac Bobbi brown, La Mer etc etc etc. I get guest passes a few times a year, happy to chuck some your way next batch I get. It is mega-cheap, staff prices.

I also use powder for my eyebrows. I'm naturally blonde, but I dye my hair dark so I always have to fill in my eyebrows. I love powder because I can get both a really natural looking brow and more defined retro ones simply by switching brushes and building up the color.

I can't generally use a brow powder on my own, I feel I need to fill the sparse areas first with a pencil then go over them with a powder to make it look natural. A favourite cheapo pencil, one that I switched to after Australis discontinued my colour (!) is the Rimmel pencil as it's quite dry and won't melt off down your face.

Such lovely, feminine make-up hues. I have freakishly sparse eyebrows (naturally) and haven't had much luck with powders of creams (I don't think there's enough hair there for them to grasp onto), so I've been using a pencil (it's actually a CoverGirl eyeliner that I find works great as an eyebrow pencil) for over three years now and am really happy with it.

Wishing you a gorgeous, relaxing weekend!

I use only the Bourjois brand.
For eye shadows combine these AME À PAUPIÈRES BOITE RONDE, lime green color 01 and over wear a bright pink color BOITE INTENSE Ronde is 03.

Are also very natural and light pale pink shade with a golden top.

I just discovered thanks to you that the dark shadows dirty look.

I really like your look fresh and cool. Thank you for sharing your tricks of makeup.

With lips do mixtures of several bars of color by day and the occasion, I have a big mouth and I have to be careful with this.

As blush I use lilas d'or, (I´m so white) color 33, I like golden highlights of this brand and smell, mmmm.
