yellow and three black bows and a tuesday

It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then there are days when I don't wear anything vintage. Not a thing! Yesterday was one of those days. I love wearing shorter, full skirts at the moment. They just feel right this winter! I am also very happy that I am finding enough light to take pictures in the morning. The mornings have been so beautiful lately, with lots of sunshine and tiny numbers for temperatures. So frosty and beautiful! It makes it a little bit easier to get out of bed as the sun gets up too.

The skirt is from asos, as is the neck bow, the jumper is topshop and the shoes are my favourite red shoes! The belt is by dotti and the hair bow from... I can't remember! I've had it for years. It was good for work and good for dancing to Pulp and Stone Roses in the evening. I've got a cold and wore flat shoes on Monday, and no eye makeup, and it's amazing how different it can make you feel. I am much happier to step and totter on Melbourne's cobblestones in my great big platforms!

I like you in shorter skirts! It's a nice departure from your usual style and I'm sure it makes you feel a little less wintery.

I just taught myself how to play Razzamataz on the guitar. I'm not very good. But it's super fun to play. I love pulp. We saw Jarvis in a half empty town hall one delightful night (http://jessicaboots.blogspot.co.nz/2010/02/weve-been-away-for-almost-three-weeks.html), we had John Safran hanging out with us too. MOst enojyable.
Being from England did you every listen to Jarvis Cockers Sunday Service? I'm not sure if it's still going but it was great. His voice is so sultry. And boy can he thrust those hips!

Love your hair and I like the short flirty skirt thing. Unfortunately I don't have the legs for them.

Thanks guys! Yep, still had a vintage-y feel, I can't help it ;)

Laura: it seems to be my favourite colour, and I have ended up with a lot of it without realising until now! :D

Jessicat: nice! Am totally jealous of you seeing Jarvis. I don't remember Sunday Service very well but I LOVE his voice, I might have to have a bit of a search for it now actually!

Andi B. Goode: thank you! x

I have the very same neck tie. It's my favourite purchase from ASOS ever. It looks gorgeous here with the vibrant yellow (perfect to brighten up the winter) and the short circle skirt. Just gorgeous!

You are cute as a button in that outfit! But what I really want to say is - love the hair!! I suspect my hair is too long to do that, along with my incompetence in hair dos (or is it lack of patience)! So it's nice to see someone else doing it well.

I want your shoes... but I'm not sure how they'd look with my bugaboo :(

Completely darling outfit! It's sweet, but no saccharinely so, thanks to the classic black elements. Very lovely and just perfect for the chillier months.

Love the outfit! I'm really loving your neck ties. I think you could totally rock vintage sweater clips too - attached to the tips of your collars.
