new sheer dresses, vintage skirts and a little cape

dahlia dress black vintage skirt f What I wore last Sunday, to go to a dinner with friends. My Dahlia dress with the sheer panels at the shoulders from this post, a vintage black full skirt with bow ties at the hips, and my Gorman shoes. I decided that if my bra straps were going to be visible, they may as well be deliberately so, and make a statement, so I went with red. And this worked out rather well, as it was a bit chilly out (by, you know, Melbourne summer-after-a-warm-day standards, so not exactly cold by any means) and I added my vintage capelet, which has red lining. Why hello, matchy matchy! Speaking of matchy matchy, check out my roots, matchin' mah skirt! I am happy to say that I re-blonded last Tuesday and am loving the white-lilac all over again. dahlia dress black vintage skirt g dahlia dress black vintage skirt e dahlia dress black vintage skirt d dahlia dress black vintage skirt c dahlia dress black vintage skirt b dahlia dress black vintage skirt a dahlia dress black vintage skirt cape instagram

wow, such beautiful blue eyes. love the dahlia dress, I've jsut been introduced to dahlia, and am oogling at a pinafore from there. Speaking of bra straps, I try to avoid things requiring strapless bras, or if the sleeves, don't quite cover, I take the same approach of "screw it, let the world see I am wearing a bra!" Love the gradient effect of your hair right now :D

Oh gosh that cape is far too cute! Jealous jealous jealous! I'm never one to wear a dress as a top, and I'm not sure why I'm not?! My brain can't creatively put my dresses together with other pieces hahaha! You are such a pretty vintage lady! Sigh!

I always worry about my bra straps showing. But you make it work nicely here.

That skirt is lovely! Using a dress as a top is very inventive! I really like your lipstick but I can't tell whether it's more of a pinky red (like in the second picture) or is it a darker red? Or did you change lipsticks in between taking pictures? I'd love to know what the one you're wearing in the first two photos is :D

Though your hair looks great any way you wear it.... I think the blonde bob is your most flattering cut/color yet!

Harlow Darling: the sun was going down and in and out behind clouds when I took these which might be why the colour looks different on different screens :) It's Lime Crime's Retro Futurist x

Bethany: it should be a pretty straightforward one to sew, let me know if you do :)

Selina: really? I've seen them look great on all heights and sizes.

Splendidly lovely outfit! Chalk it up to my 80s childhood, but I've always adored the pairing of soft, sweet pink and inky black.
