peach and white stripes and a very hot day

black bow belt fuschia moon nails The Thursday before last, pushing 40C. Vintage cotton dress time! With black floral wedges here. I was feeling a bit early 1960's and having another hair up kind of day. I want to grow it past my shoulders again and wearing it up seems to help – not literally, of course, but it somehow feels encouraging! It was already hot by the time I left for work, but Babycat decided she needed the hottest sunny spots to do sleeps in. peach white vintage stripes bpeach white vintage stripes f peach white vintage stripes d babycat loves the sun even on hot days peach white vintage stripes e peach white vintage stripes a peach white vintage stripes c I also started the day with a black bow belt but I was melting by midday, so that had to go; the colour from the belt from starting to mark my dress! I was rather pleased with how well my nails matched my shoes – small pleasures, take 'em when you can – although they were a pretty good match for all those mosquito bites, too.

In the evening I headed south to Chapel Street for a lovely evening with my fellow Melbourne bloggers... more on that next time! I get to show a bit of what Melbourne is like and I'm looking forward to it. xpeach white vintage stripes g peach white vintage stripes h park city circle tram

So splendidly pretty! I really like that shade of peach. It veers a bit more towards yellow than pink, and looks absolutely terrific with your colouring. So sweet and summery!

Oh Marianne, I love that dress on you! Lovely lovely! The summer's been a struggle for me, but you're totally right - lots of cotton dresses are definitely the way to go! :) You look super lovely!

Your hair looks SO great. I can't do rolls to save my life. I can't tell if it's just that my long hair with lots of layers is ill-suited to it, or if it's just my lack of skill (probably the latter!) I'll keep practicing, and in the meantime be jealous of your fabulous 'dos.

For some reason that dress make me wan to jump on the sewing machine and sew something similar. Such a beautiful line to the dress.
How do you get your hair in that style?

Jessica Cangiano: it does look so much more yellow in the photos, my camera has a thing with oranges and doesn't pick them up as well as other colours! x

Nora: sorry to hear summer is not good atm. The heat is so intense! ;p maybe we can find ways to make it more enjoyable, I'll have a think!

Amanda: thanks – but this is just a casual one on straight, heat-limp hair. Practice is my advice, it seems impossible at first but it gets better and better each time. Pratice and patience, then! :D x

Rochelle New: thanks – and they go around the back and I completely forgot to show it, ha! ;D x

Aw you look so breezy and summery in this outfit. I love the color of your dress and those floral wedges you wore with it. The bow belt is super cute too. It's too bad it was making marks on your dress! Also, I'm absolutely in love with how you've worn your hair here. I wish I could do a pretty retro hair style like this!

What a beautiful dress!

Envy about seeing greens at your photos, when its everything full of snow here, in Kyiv. Lucky you :)

Love that dress. Hope the belt didn't make too many marks.

Nika Chick: oh and here I am loving the pictures of the snow in Europe! I haven't seen snow for almost 10 years!

Kristian: they washed out; phew! :D

I have some black cat-eye glasses like those, but I keep losing them!

Just a little question: what do you do for work? I am intrigued as to your lovely outfits being good for work attire. X jess

Anonymous: I haven't worked anywhere at all corporate for years so have always been able to wear what I want :) Creative industries are good like that!

Bethany: d'oh! I know if I got designer glasses I'd lose or break them in a flash ;)

Wow, I love that dress! The striped side panels are so cute and unique! If you could compile a list of all the places you get your vintage from, I would be so happy!
