summer holidays, vintage cotton dresses and bare feet

vintage dress red rose Hello! Happy New Year! I hope you are having a great holidays. I am having the most relaxing summer holiday since I came to Australia and it's been wonderful. It's been beautifully warm and not too hot, so John and I have been spending our days sleeping in, playing badminton (very casually, not even a net is involved), bike riding to meet up with friend's in the evening – two of whom have new puppies, so cute! – and going for walks, or rather gentle strolls, in the local trails, looking at bats and their fuzzy babies and the sparkling water. There's also been hoola hooping and watching Mad Men repeats, going to bed very late, cheese eating and a spot of vintage shopping..! It's felt so nice to be wearing my vintage cotton dresses, walking on the warm floorbaords with bare feet, and having the time to contemplate if not my naval, my eyebrows – I'm trying a new shape out. Yes, big news, right here! I am so excited to be saying goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013, and can't wait to blog this year! There is so much I want to write about, incliding that long-promised post on how and why I got into wearing vintage clothes, moving to Australia and some more tutorials, filmed ones, but they'll have to wait for when I get my camera back. Is there anything you want me to write about? Let me know! x eyebrows yellow vintage skirt vintage bike yarra view

I'm so excited for your post on how/why you got into vintage! I also think it would be fun if you mentioned if you prefer one era over the other, whether your friends are vintage lovers as well, and the kind of reactions you get from more casually, non-vintage dressed people.

ps: I have just gotta say, I think your style is always on point and so beautiful. If there's anyone's wardrobe I could raid, it would most definitely be yours :D xx

I'd love to see a 'through the ages' post with pics of all the different looks ( hair colours and styles especially) you've had over the past few years!

Also I hope you didn't go barefoot on your bike...? :)

I'm madly in love with that sweet, sweet sunflower (or yellow poppies?) skirt, the chaotic print is just killing me. It is just too delightful and full of happiness. I wish it wasn't vintage so I could get my hands on my own but I suppose that's the charm of vintage!

Oh great post!! You look so pretty!
The things I'd love to see you write about are:

I always see you wear an engagement ring and wonder whether you're married or going to get married in the near future. If so, will you be having a vintage wedding??

I love reading couples love stories on blogs, if it isn't too personal or crossing the privacy line I'd love to read about it!

And I'd love to read about what made you come to Australia. The romantic in me would love to think you moved here for love! But any plans on moving back to the UK?

I also remember you saying you dyed your own hair. I'd love to know how and what brands. Especially how you do the pastel colours!

And just curious whether you get stopped on the street a lot in Melbourne from people recognising you?

Love your blog!
