a yellow vintage dress, a change in the weather and the perfect vintage cardigan

vintage pink cardigan b I mentioned the other day that I had added some new vintage summer dresses to my collection, and here is one of them, and also a new, to me, anyway – obviously! - vintage cardigan, too. Because of course buying summer dresses at this time of year is not ideal, but cardigans are seasonal, aren't they? Yes! I am always on the lookout for good vintage cardigans, cropped with a fitted waist, made in beautiful wools, with great details (sparkles! beads! etc!) and I love this one and its deep pink colour – and the beading on the little collar, too! It will be perfect with pencil skirts this winter... which as of yesterday seems to be very close! vintage pink cardigan a These are from my sleepy Saturday, when we looked in a vintage furniture store for a little table to keep my makeup on (no luck just yet, but it almost always takes time, doesn't it) and then bought some things (a baking tin, some dinner plates) (but no rolling pin!) from Ikea. vintage pink cardigan d The weather was at last, at long last, cool and Autumny. I was tired from having a bunch of allergies the day before (and something bit me on the face, right between the eyebrows, can you see it? Rude critter beasty!) from patting a new dog and a new cat (not mine, they're my friends' and they;'re both darlings) earlier in the week. Cardigan weather cheered me right up, though. So, now the warm is finally leaving us, I hope it is bringing in Spring to you in the top half! And I hope everyone down here is liking the change too! x vintage pink cardigan cvintage pink cardigan e vintage pink cardigan f

That is a very lovely cardi!
I'm starting to embrace this cool weather, and getting excited about wearing snuggly scarfs and warm tights.

That cardigan is gorgeous, the pink looks so good with your lilac hair.

Those shoes are also brilliant. We're just coming into Spring and Summer here, but they look great Autumn shoes.

That cardigan is so pretty! And you seriously can get away with any hair color beautifully! You're inspiring me to do something more drastic with my hair for the fun of it!

I'm glad you can wear some nice cardis now. I always love when the weather changes. I feel like I can breathe it in and move without sweating. So nice.

That cardigan is gorgeous!
I actually have a question for you about your vintage buying - I'm forever looking through etsy or ebay or various online stores for nice vintage pieces, but I am often blown away by a lot of the prices.
Most of the things I fall in love with are well out of my price range, and a lot of things that are in my range are well.. eh.
If you don't mind, what sort of price range do you find justifiable for vintage pieces?
Do you tend to pay a lot more or less than you would pay for something (obviously not as nice) from a high street store?
Obviously cost and what one can afford is going to be a fairly personal thing, but I'm always interested to see what other people think is a "reasonable" price for vintage.

Stefanie : thanks! I love yellows and pinks together! :)

Nettie : thank you!

Taygan : this is a brilliant question. I'm going to do a post on it :) I agree, the prices can be very high and it's not very affordable! My rule of thumb atm is that my dresses tend to cost less than our high street, or sometimes the same, but our high street is expensive and very bad quality (UK is much better quality wise). But there are practical and emotional ways to value something too... oh I have a lot to say about this! Thanks for the great question! <3

Splendidly pretty ensemble! I adore the strawberry (or raspberry) lemonade colour palette at work here. It's every bit as refreshing and sweet as the drink! :)
