my new vintage winter coat

green vintage-coat a
If you are keeping up with my facebook page you'll know that I have a new vintage coat. And I love it! It's really, really heavy and really, really warm. Perfect for the cold days ahead. I can't believe I was being so anti having more than one winter coat – it does get cold here for months (in spite of the constant sunshine I've been in lately! No, really, it's true, you'll see!) and months and your winter coat is something you wear every day. So it makes sense. And I love having this one, the beautiful green is a nice change from my goes-with-everything pale grey one.

This pics are from my instagram – but I got my camera back today! I missed it sooooo much. I can't wait to use it again..!

That coat is very pretty! Love the color, black details and the cape.

Very spiffy! Love those covered buttons and the mini-cape-lette detail. Modern mass production seems to neglect these fascinating little touches, making vintage items all the more compelling with their delicate intricacies. Hooray for chilly coat-wearing weather!

I am absolutely in love with that coat. I love green! I got an amazing reproduction early 50s style coat from Heyday clothing this winter, I almost can't wait for winter to come back around so I can wear it again!

What a lovely coat! I'm always one of those people that survive on 1 coat for the whole winter and usually that coat would be super ugly so this makes me want to get new ones for winter, that aren't super ugly haha xo

I love your new coat. Perfect colour and a wonderful silhouette. I'm about to spend 5 days in Melbourne doing some holiday study lectures and am currently conflicted about picking out some outfits to match the trendy Melbourne life that you in particular show so well. Quite excited for some Laigon st, brunswick st and st kilda food explorations! any recommendations of where to go out to tea? :D

Terrifically lovely, feminine, gorgeous winter coat. You always inject so much glorious colour into your wardrobe (and hair), it seems especially fitting to me that your cold weather topper isn't just, say, black or grey, but instead primarily green and so wonderfully lively (just like you).

Thanks so much for the lovely comments :) me and my coat are superchuffed!

Meg Eileen Carroll : thanks! Oh, Melbourne tea... I like Mixed Business in Clifton Hill, and Cheerio in Richmond but for afternoon tea I've heard good things about the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, but I haven't been for years :)

Cheray Natalie : the mornings and nights have been freezing! :D
