black, cream collars and a touch of mustard and blue

bw pp collar d Bright and early last week, in my vintage black dress (again) with a silk pale blue dress with a pale cream peter pan collar (by Arrabella Ramsey, from years and years ago) underneath for a bit of detail – and warmth! With stocking and the pointy black shoes, which you'll just have to trust me on as for some reason I didn't fit my feet in but got some lovely ceiling on show instead. That's just what happens when you got up in the dark and drove though the sunrise. Actually I love being out when it's really early, it's just a shame that getting out of bed hurts so much!

Anyway, snuggling into my mustard scarf from last year eased the pain, and I'm so chuffed to be wearing it again. It's also been fun to make outfits out of less clothes, mixing things together rather than just popping on a different dress everyday, and I think I might just play with this more often..! bw pp collar b bw pp collar c bw pp collar h bw pp collar f

Even though I am happy it's still summer for a little while more here in the northern hemisphere, your outfit makes me super excited for winter!

You are beautiful! Love the layering; the black dress and collar are darling! Thanks for helping me date the dress I was asking about.

So classically gorgeous! I know what you mean, there is a certain creative appeal to stretching the outfit potential of one (or a small number of) garments in new ways. It's a bit like those days when you don't have a lot of food in the house, but still manage to come up with tasty, inventive meals.

Your silk pale blue dress looks adorable! I personally think that the peter pan collar will never (ever!) go out of fashion- well, I'm obviously not talking about mainstream.
Unlike you, I love waking up early - it gives me the wonderful feeling that there's the whole day in front of me.

Have a great day

This is so pretty, probably one of my favorite outfits of yours! I LOVE the idea of layering a pretty collar under the simple dress. I am totally going to do that!

Your outfit posts never cease to be stellar examples of classiness & vintage extravagance. I simple adore your style!
Might I inquire as to the shade/brand your lipstick was in this particular shoot? It is a gorgeous colour!

precious paperdoll : thank you :) I am 99% sure it was Besame's Carmine, with a neutral-browny-pinky liner (because I need to sharpen my orange one!) and I can't recommend the lipstick enough! It is my go-to orange-red for day and I am SO glad I bought it! x
