flapper style

flapper night ins Last night I dressed up flapper style (with a nice dose of Sarah Moon influence) and went to the Gatsby Spring Soiree. It was really fun to dress up in such a different style to my normal one, and I really enjoyed the different makeup – but oh, smiling with this pointy 1920's style lipstick shape is a Very Scary Business, believe me! Who'da thought... but. But. I'm still really under the weather but I missed a whole bunch of Gatsby parties a couple of months ago due to having a cold (which is such a rubbish reason for missing anything, isn't it?!) and watching them unfold online while I was on the couch was not much fun, so I was determined to stand up straight, paint myself up and go! And I am so chuffed I did! Today I am going to edit some more photos, do some blogging and watch Brideshead Revisited (the 1981 series, of course) and really enjoy a quiet Sunday. Hope you are having a good weekend too x

Gorgeous look! How I would love to have parties like that, for which you'd have to dress up in such style. Maybe I should start organizing them myself, because I never heard of anything like that around here...

Hope you'll feel better again soon :-)

Oh I hate that. It seems that whenever those highly desired events come up I often find myself with a hysterical case of the sniffles.

You look so nice. Oh didn't the 20s have some darling crochet hats? I've been trying to conjure up the confidence to attempt to crochet something that fancy. I'm on my fourth beret, but that's only a simple pattern...

I always struggle to get that bupid lip with lipstick, but those lip velveteens by limecrime allow you to pain it on. and it lasts longer than most lippies i've tried.
