black roses, black lace and saying yes more

black-rose c Happy Monday, once again! I hope you had a good weekend. I've had a good one, after a good, busy week, too. I decided to start saying yes a bit more, go out to more new places and try doing things that are a little bit out of my comfort zone, which includes using the phrase "comfort zone". But you know what I mean. It's been going really well so far, and I have plenty to blog about.

This is what I wore last Thursday evening, for a dinner out. A full skirted black floral strapless dress with a black lace top underneath, and my new green and black pointy flats. And my vintage grey coat, because it was SO cold when the sun went down. I'm really enjoying wearing flat shoes – definitely something new for me! But not too far out of my comfort-in-footwear zone, in that they feel pretty good. And I thought I could never not wear platforms..! I see myself saying yes to some more flat shoes in my future...

What would you consider to be outside your comfort zone? black-rose b pointy-flat-shoes a pointy-flat-shoes b black-rose g black-rose f black-rose d black-rose a

You look so lovely! I always admire how effortlessly you combine garments like this - every time I try to put a blouse under a dress I feel it looks odd.

Flats have been a pretty consistent part of my life for as long as I can remember (I'm terribly awkward in heels). Anyway, love the look, the dress is absolutely amazing!

Really lovely and original, the lace blouse under the strapless dress. The green of the shoes perfectly matches the leaves of the dress!

And I love that you're saying yes more! We should all try to do that!
And I love that park!

I would consider wearing platforms as often as you do seriously out of my comfort zone but that just shows you how different we all are. I'm quite impressed with you actively doing things differently though, I'm gonna have to follow suit.

Strapless dresses are probably outside of my comfort zone. The only time I've worn one was when I was bridesmaid at a friend's wedding but I adore your idea of wearing a top underneath. You look fabulous! And yay for flats! :D

For me heels would be out of my comfort zone :) I love the lace top and this is just another great way to wear one. I've been looking for a lace top.

love this outfit. the cut, the textures, the colors.

not my comfort zone: loud unsocial people around me and no place to hide....
with clothing - never say never :-)

Very beautiful new blog post!
Flat shoes are completely ok to wear, and besides, our feet are so thankful for them! We have never been wearing more flat shoes than during this year and it feels great..! ;)

Stepping out of my comfort zone is fun, I enjoy doing it. Sometimes it can be a bit scary depending on what it is, but most times it's good and helps me to grow as a person. I love this dress and the added top underneath adds a little something to it too. You look wonderful. Have a gorgeous week xx Kizzy!

I too panic about flats....only because I'm so petite, however.....I do sometimes wear them - try dog walking on the park in heels haha!

Loving the outfit, I don't have many strapless dresses, probably because I don't go many places to wear them.....although you've made them more versatile here :) I may have to try it.

Wearing heels. That is really out of my comfort zone but one day I'll be brave to wear a pair more than twice a year

Gorgeous outfit! I had a pair of shoes just like these in 'tiger' colours and I wore them into holes.

Oh how I love how you've layered the black lace under the dress. At first I thought it was part of the dress. It looks fantastic!
